FTC sting finds 10 data brokers willing to sell private info

A variety of companies including 4nannies.com were caught in a Federal Trade Commission sting looking at whether data-brokering companies were willing to sell private information. The FTC sent 10 companies warning letters that they were running afoul of the law. For example, Data Brokers was warned that "test-shopping contacts indicated that your company may be selling consumer information for use in determining eligibility for insurance."
