Jewell: Interior Dept. to apply "best science" in forthcoming fracking rules

The Interior Department did not intend to allay the concerns of either the energy industry or environmental groups when it decided to rewrite proposed hydraulic fracturing regulations, said Interior Secretary Sally Jewell. The rules would consider modern practices and technologies as well as use the "best science," Jewell said during a Senate panel hearing. The department is also "very close" to rolling out the regulations, she said.
