Mars One colony project draws massive interest

Some 78,000 people already have applied to be colonists on Mars, a project envisioned by the nonprofit group Mars One, which hopes to put four people on the planet by 2023. "With 78,000 applications in two weeks, this is turning out to be the most desired job in history," Mars One co-founder and CEO Bas Lansdorp said. "These numbers put us right on track for our goal of half a million applicants."
