Report: Students want more mobile technology in school

A majority of students in grades K-12 want to use mobile devices such as tablets, smartphones and laptops in the classroom, and almost all believe the devices will make learning more enjoyable, according to a survey of 2,500 students conducted for learning company Pearson by Harris Interactive. The study among elementary, junior-high and high-school students saw a consistent desire for mobile technology across students in most subjects. "[We] found that students in grades 4-12 use tablets almost equally in math, science, history and social studies, and English/language arts," Pearson Senior Vice President Seth Reichlin said.
