Should school leaders use technology to communicate with parents?

School leaders and teachers should consider social media and blogs as tools for connecting with parents along with traditional means, such as printed newsletters and automated phone calls, elementary-school principal Matt Renwick writes in this commentary. Renwick offers three ideas for using digital communications, including using social-networking tools such as Facebook and Twitter. "Communicating both digitally and in print ensures that we are reaching more of our audience," he writes.
