Survey: Improper financial reporting is common

An Ernst & Young survey of four regions outside the U.S. says that 20% of staff and 42% of executives and directors report seeing financial irregularities at their companies in the past year. The urge to cook the books appears to derive from an increasing pressure to deliver in the face of trying business conditions.
