T-Mobile US is recruiting small businesses for a cloud-based phone service that is believed to be free of charge for the remainder of this year and half price for 2014, according to this report. The carrier, which has labeled the software-as-a-service "Business Connect," is apparently trying to compete with hosted services from such companies as 8×8 and RingCentral. T-Mobile is targeting businesses with 20 or fewer employees in providing an array of services that are typically enjoyed by larger enterprises.
