Wind industry urged to advocate at state level

Gabriel Alonso, chairman-elect of the American Wind Energy Association, called on attendees at the WINDPOWER 2013 Conference in Chicago to support bills that would preserve or strengthen the renewable portfolio standards in five states. Measures in Colorado, Minnesota and Connecticut seek to increase RPS levels, while a bill in North Carolina would dismantle the state's standard. Meanwhile, Goldwind USA CEO Tim Rosenzweig noted that loopholes in Illinois' RPS must be plugged for the law to work as intended.
