Earplugs reduce risk of confusion in ICU patients, study says

Giving ICU patients earplugs within 24 hours of admission reduced their risk of delirium or confusion by more than 50%, according to a study in the journal Critical Care. The Belgian researchers also found that more patients who used earplugs reported better sleep.
