Many people don't receive reverse 9-1-1 alerts, county officials say

Many residents in Clark County, Wash., don't get reverse 9-1-1 notifications, such as a recent alert about a gas leak, because only 23% of county phone lines are land lines, which automatically receive the calls. Officials say 65% of phone numbers in the county are for cellphones, and fewer than 1% of cell and VoIP phone users have opted in to the reverse-notification system.
