Top teacher innovates to incorporate technology

An award-winning teacher in Georgia with limited resources said she has discovered innovative ways to keep students engaged in classroom lessons. Shekema Silveri, who teaches Advanced Placement English, said she encourages her students to use their cellphones to conduct research and to write on Twitter and blogs. In 2011, all of Silveri's students passed state standardized tests and she earned the Milken Educator Award.
