AAFP supports women's reproductive health curriculum in residencies

The AAFP reiterated its support of family planning and reproductive decision-making curriculum in medical residency programs in a letter to the Review Committee for Family Medicine about the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education's proposed Program Requirements for Residency Education in Family Medicine. The draft removes references to curriculum in family planning and reproductive decision-making, and AAFP Board Chair Glen Stream, M.D, said the Academy is "firm in our policy commitment to women's health and contraception as essential components for the family physician's scope of practice."
