Analysis: Differences between IaaS, PaaS, SaaS become less distinct

The distinctions among infrastructure-as-a-service, platform-as-a-service and software-as-a-service offerings are becoming fuzzy as providers offer more features, Brandon Butler writes. Gartner's John Rymer divides PaaS users into three categories: coders, "DevOps" and rapid developers. Many developers now need a combination of cloud services to accomplish their ends, Rymer says.
