Children's animation with female leads fail to attract broadcasters

Female characters make up less than one-third of main characters in children’s animation even though producers continue to float projects with strong female leads. Broadcasters remain reluctant to purchase girl-skewing properties and favor boys’ action animation or gender-neutral programs.
