Deal would shorten sentence of former Enron CEO Skilling

U.S. prosecutors agreed to a deal that could release former Enron CEO Jeffrey Skilling from prison nearly a decade sooner than allowed by his 24-year sentence. In return, Skilling agreed to stop appealing his conviction. The agreement clears the way for the release of $40 million that was seized from Skilling to be paid out to victims of the Enron fraud.
