Does your sitting posture really matter?

It's tempting to slouch while sitting at your desk all day, but maintaining proper posture "expands your chest, allowing you to take in a larger breath," which gives you more energy and focus, according to Mladen Golubic of Cleveland Clinic's Wellness Institute. Sitting up may feel uncomfortable at first, so it's a good idea to start practicing yoga to strengthen your core muscles, he says. Even if you have good posture, you should try to get up and walk around every once in a while, he advises.
