Growth of river cruising won't be slowing soon, Avalon exec says

Patrick Clark, managing director of Avalon Waterways, expressed confidence that demand for river cruising has yet to reach its peak as increasing numbers of ocean cruisers show an interest in a more intimate cruising experience. "The entire river cruise market to Europe is 500,000 people (a year) as opposed to 15 million taking ocean cruises, and there is a high level of interest from that 15 million in river cruises," Clark said.
