Initiative aims to link STEM professionals with students

A national consortium known as US2020 is aiming to amass 1 million volunteers from science, technology, engineering and math fields to promote STEM careers through mentoring and other programs in schools and colleges, writes Theresa Berenato of The Frances Hesselbein Leadership Institute. The initiative is being led by Eric Schwarz, co-founder of the national nonprofit Citizen Schools, which has engineers, doctors and other professionals providing insight about education and careers to students in eight states, Berenato writes in this blog post.
