N.Y. City Council OKs requiring businesses to provide paid sick leave

Legislation approved by New York's City Council would require many businesses to provide employees with at least five days of paid sick leave per year. Mayor Michael Bloomberg has promised to veto the bill, but the council is expected to override any veto. The legislation would take effect in April.
