Ocon Medical obtains $1.68M from investors

A funding round led by Docor and Pontifax has pulled in about $1.68 million for Ocon Medical. The Israeli firm is the maker of the Intra Uterine Ball, or IUB, a contraceptive device that changes its shape into a sphere when inserted into the uterus and reverts back to a thin wire shape when removed, potentially causing less pain and damage than T-shaped IUDs. The company hopes to obtain approval to market the device in Europe this summer.
