Propane autogas breaks into medium-duty market

Propane autogas has been mostly used in school buses and light-duty vehicles, but the fuel is breaking into the medium-duty marketplace with the introduction of two new propane autogas vehicle technologies, observers say. Roush CleanTech recently unveiled its new Ford F-59 stripped cab chassis, while Freightliner Custom Chassis and CleanFuel USA debuted their S2G chassis for package-delivery companies. "In certain locations, we're getting excellent reports in terms of horsepower and torque compared to diesel and gas counterparts," said Roy Willis, president and CEO of the Propane Education & Research Council.
