Social media, videos drive uptick in Web usage

U.S. consumers spent a daily average of 3 hours, 7 minutes online during 2012, an increase of about 7 minutes from the year before, according to a Gfk study. The increase was apparently driven by an uptick in social media usage and online video viewing. Usage of most other media platforms declined slightly, with only video gaming also posting an increase.
