Software helps lawyers sift through documents

Lawyers may have to look through millions of electronic documents in certain cases, which can be costly for companies. However, in one recent case involving the proposed merger of large beer companies, the Justice Department allowed the use of legal software to sort through documents. The software helped Constellation Brands and Crown Imports spend about half as much as they otherwise would have, according to Warren Rosborough, a partner at McDermott Will & Emery.
