U.S. is too dependent on overseas parts, warns report

The U.S. isn't producing enough raw materials and parts on its own, and that means the Defense Department often looks abroad for supplies, a report from the Alliance for American Manufacturing says. The report warns that an over-reliance on foreign nations will jeopardize national security and it calls for changes to shore up American manufacturing capabilities.
