Amazon subjects its series-production process to reviews, comments

Amazon is potentially remaking the way TV series are produced by posting scripts and pilots for user reviews and comments, in the same way it subjects its other products to public scrutiny, critic Robert Lloyd writes. Of the 14 pilots it posted recently, just one was produced from a script submitted to the Amazon Studios website, while the other 13 were commissioned via the "old-school" method of calls and meetings with agents and producers, although "these scripts, too, were available for public review and comment," Lloyd writes.
