Asian shares slide as China inflation heats up

Slightly higher inflation in China held down markets across most of Asia on Thursday, although South Korean shares advanced sharply on a central bank rate cut. The Nikkei fell 0.66% to 14,191.48, the Hang Seng eased 0.14% to 23,211.48 and the S&P/ASX edged down 0.03% to 5,198.40 while the Kospi surged 1.18%, ending at 1,979.45.
