Bill aims to boost small-airplane development

A House measure introduced by Rep. Mike Pompeo, R-Kan., would make it easier for light aircraft to be designed and developed, a move that bill backers say is key to revitalizing small-plane aviation. The Light Aircraft Revitalization Act would "cut red tape and at the same time improve safety, effectively revitalizing the industry by cutting the cost of new planes," Pompeo said.
