Conn. high school launches medical careers academy

Students who have an interest in the medical field will be able to focus their coursework and learn alongside others with similar interests at Connecticut's Manchester High School this fall. The school is creating a medical careers academy, partly to help students prepare for a wide range of health care careers but also to create a small-school feel in a large high school, says Mark Ruede, the head of the science department and creator of the academy's curriculum.
