Conn. House OKs measure on steering of auto-glass repairs

A Connecticut ban on auto-damage appraisers directing customers to specific repair shops also would include glass repairs under legislation that has cleared the state House. An insurer or third-party claims administrator would be required to advise a customer of options in fixing a vehicle's glass, and an insurance company would not be allowed to provide only one referral under the bill.
