Designer outlets find a stable UK niche

American developer Joey Kaempfer opened the first UK outlet mall in 1995 amid skepticism about how the concept of stores selling last season's looks would fare outside the US. Time has told the story. Today, the UK's 50 designer outlets attract not only Brits but also tourists who travel from as far as China to peruse the racks of discounted fashions.
