Genetic mutation causes "port wine" birthmarks and disorder

A genetic mutation after conception may be the cause of "port wine" birthmarks and Sturge-Weber syndrome, the neurological disorder that can accompany the marks. The syndrome can cause seizures, blindness and learning disabilities. Researchers at the Bioinformatics at Kennedy Krieger Institute say the discovery could help them find a cure.
