How designer partnerships shine up retail brands

Target has partnered with designer Phillip Lim on a collection of men's and women's apparel and accessories set to debut in September, the retailer's latest move in its ongoing strategy to shine up Target's cachet with budget-conscious style fans. A growing number of retailers are also expanding their use of designer exclusives, including H&M, Kohl's, J.C. Penney and Gap.
