Landing top advisers means winning over families, poll suggests

A Fidelity Investments poll indicates that a key to landing a high-performing adviser is influencing that person's spouse. Forty percent of advisers who switched firms in the previous five years had the encouragement of their families, the survey showed. Firms trying to retain top advisers also should pay attention to spouses, Fidelity's Sanjiv Mirchandani says.
