ONC panel considers nontargeted data query at hearing

The ONC's Health IT Policy Committee met Tuesday to discuss the issue of nontargeted data queries and tasked the Privacy & Security Tiger Team with redesigning its proposals on various data-query scenarios. During the meeting, Deven McGraw, the Tiger Team's chairwoman, said there should be no limits, other than patient choice, for data queries when providers can't locate patient records for direct treatment purposes.
