Outpatient visits are common among youths at risk for suicide

Canadian researchers examined 724 youths who committed suicide and found that more than 80% of them, mostly females, sought medical care the same year as their death. The study, published in the Canadian Journal of Psychiatry, suggests that health care providers have an opportunity to intervene.
