Pharmacist compensation growth outpaces other health care jobs

Compensation for pharmacists grew at a faster rate than did salaries for health care workers generally and salaries across U.S. jobs last year. Retail, mail and specialty pharmacists brought home an average $117,000 gross salary in 2012, an increase of 2.6% over the previous year. Industry expert Adam Fein notes the independent pharmacy lobby says pharmacists are undervalued. "These salary data tell a very different story," Fein writes.
