Sen. Wyden: Confirmation of Energy Dept. nominee should proceed

The Senate needs to proceed with the confirmation process for Ernest Moniz, who was nominated by President Barack Obama to head the Department of Energy, said Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., put a procedural hold on the confirmation because of budget concerns related to the department's mixed-oxide fuel project in South Carolina. Wyden said he and Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, have talked to Graham and Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., "a number of times, and we'll continue to do it. I think it's time to vote."
