S.F. settles CTIA suit, revokes cellphone warning law

San Francisco lawmakers agreed Tuesday to revoke a 2010 law that required cellphones to carry warnings about potential radiation hazards following a series of legal defeats in federal court. Under a settlement with CTIA-The Wireless Association®, the city will not have to pay the group's $500,000 legal fees in return for killing the ordinance and pledging to refrain from considering putting similar measures into practice.
