USDA official backs schools' summer meal service

Audrey Rowe, administrator of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food and Nutrition Service, said during a recent visit to Ohio that all districts should have a summer meal program for students. In the Reynoldsburg City School district, officials provide free meals at some schools, use vans to offer meals at mobile sites, and provide "backpack" meals to help feed students during weekends.
