Wrigley says FDA talk led to pulling caffeinated gum

Wrigley is pulling its Alert Energy Caffeine Gum after talking with the Food and Drug Administration. "After discussions with the FDA, we have a greater appreciation for its concern about the proliferation of caffeine in the nation's food supply," said Wrigley North America President Casey Keller, adding that the company would likely back regulation of the product category.
