Massachusetts state senators seek to end marriages

At least two state senators in the Massachusetts Legislature plan to introduce an amendment to the state's constitution to make marriages illegal for gays and lesbians. But the measure would require majority support from the legislature and from voters in a subsequent referendum, and several indicators show support for marriage equality has grown in the state in the last year.
