HHS to work on HIT guidelines, unveils members of advisory panels

Dr. Michael Klag of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and Deven McGraw of the Center for Democracy and Technology are among the experts named to two HHS advisory committees focused on health IT. The agency also plans on May 18 to release details on initiatives designed to train doctors and hospitals seeking to implement EMRs. Preliminary guidance on financial incentives tied to EMR adoption will be launched by early summer, said David Blumenthal, head of the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology.
