Designers should get familiar with CSS gradients

CSS gradients allow Web designers to apply visual effects to images and backgrounds without turning to Photoshop, writes Rochester Oliveira. Updated standards mean that effects that would once have required thousands of lines of code can be rendered in just a few keystrokes.
