ABC-Univision JV taps "Simpsons" writer as programming chief

Billy Kimball, a writer for "The Simpsons" who also co-wrote the 2010 documentary "Waiting for Superman" and helmed several editions of the Independent Spirit Awards, has been named senior vice president and chief programming officer for the ABC News-Univision joint network Fusion. "Billy has a proven track record as a unique and very talented creative executive," said Beau Ferrari, interim president for Fusion and executive vice president of operations at Univision Networks. "Simply put, he knows what it takes to keep an audience tuning in night after night."
