Australian regulators issue plan on OTC derivatives clearing

The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority, the Reserve Bank of Australia and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission have outlined how they will determine whether central clearing of a particular over-the-counter derivatives product is required. The regulators note arbitrage concerns because of an "absence of broadly harmonised requirements" globally.
