Google touts 2-factor authentication in 5-year plan

Google on Wednesday released a draft version of a five-year plan for login authentication, including support for two-factor authentication for mobile devices. "The company is now considering becoming much more aggressive with the mechanism, which is currently optional," Antone Gonsalves writes. Security experts are giving the plan mixed reactions, with one saying Google needs to step up its automated recovery mechanisms.
