For Major League Baseball, social media is a whole new game

Social media has changed the world of baseball for fans and players, Zachary Rymer writes. Twitter and Facebook created and fueled a vast rumor mill, but the active social media presence of many players and commentators has engaged fans and fostered fan-player interactions, Rymer writes. Social media has also affected the experience at the ballpark as fans increasingly spend games sharing photos and comments on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
