Measure would offer incentive for adopting statewide building codes

Congress is considering legislation that would provide states with 4% more in federal post-disaster funding if they implement model building codes that meet certain requirements. Some of the 21 states that enforce statewide codes meet the criteria for receiving increased funding, according to the BuildStrong Coalition.
