Mont. growers take sides in GMO-labeling fight

A bipartisan group in the Senate, which includes Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mont., who is a farmer, supports a bill that would require labeling of all food containing genetically modified organisms. Growers and agriculture interests are split on the issue, and some state legislatures across the country have debated similar bills; Washington state residents will vote on the question this fall and New York will consider a bill this year. Some stores already label many of their non-GMO products.
