Shortage of intensivists to drive tele-ICU growth, CEO says

The growth of tele-ICUs will be driven by a shortage of ICU physicians, which could reach 22% by 2020, C3O Telemedicine CEO Herb Rogove told the American Telemedicine Association's annual meeting. Rogove said it can be difficult to show the long-term economic benefits of tele-ICUs but they are worthwhile if hospitals select the right model to meet their needs and lay out a clear IT road map.
